No, they arn't. alpha, arm (5 subarches), i386 (2.4 and 2.6), mips, mipsel, powerpc all have unix.o as an external module. rootskel has a modules.conf that arranges for this module to be loaded, and had a hack for 2.6 support as well, until you reverted it. Now is not an appropriate time to be making large changes that require recompiles of all of our kernels. I'm going to revert this change, and r13564. -- see shy jo
