Bug#243478: 'grub-install --no-floppy' is to be provided for systems which have no floppy
Package: grub-installer
Version: sorry, I don't figure out. It's net-installer beta 3
Machine is a via C3 Nehmia, NO FLOPPY INSTALLED
on a fresh installed Debian sarge testing system with lilo and a new
grub package, 'grub-install' hangs if it is run without '--no-floppy'.
installation process with net-installer beta 3 hangs exactly at the step
running 'grub-install (hd0)' (because --no-floppy option is missing).
Simply using '--nofloppy hd0' as devicename in the installation context
menu does not help. This causes an error in the installation dialog
before 'grub-install' is actually run.
=> SUPPORT FOR THE '--no-floppy' OPTION OF 'grub-install' IS TO BE
IMPLEMENTED PROPERLY IN THE GRUB-INSTALLER PACKAGE to allow for
installation on machines which have no floppy (notebooks, servers,...)!
