Creating Software Raid partitions with beta3

Hello folks.
I've been wait YEARS for the Debian installer to include RAID support
(I've always had to do that extra step of converting machines after)
and this will be quite a time saver as I generally mirror ALL of my
servers with RAID1 and have about 60 of them so far (all running
Debian). So, I was quite pleased to read in the FAQ...
Question: Will the DebianInstaller support creating and installing to
software RAID devices?
Answer: Yes, as of beta 3 this is fairly straightforward to do, using
the menu item in the partitioner titled "Configure the Logical Volume
Manager".
But damned if I can get it to work. Anyone have any luck with it?
Should I try a nightly build?
