Problem:
I tried to install debian from cd, but when the partitioner loads the loader
halts at 14%
The kernel is still functioning well and I can view the error messages at
tty4, but they're so numerous, I won't give them all, and they start when
the installer loads, even before the partitioner)
Reproducing:
Boot from CD. Choose default language and keyboard layout(i have both tried
nl_NL and en, us keyboard).
I don't know the technical details of my system, but it has a prim. master
and prim. slave harddisk, and sec. master cdrom. It has a 3com ethernet card
as well(whose module is loaded correctly) and a i810 sound card.
Saving logs and configuration doesn't succeed.
My error matches #236184 as well, but still it's a bit different and maybe it isn't even the same error

Hello, a while ago you reported a problem with the Debian Installer. I
think that your problem is fixed in the just released beta 3 of the
installer. If you're still able to install to the hardware you tried it on,
please download it from http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/, and
try it again. Feel free to file another installation report.
A few of the new features of beta 3 include:
- new easy to use partitioner that supports automatic partitioning and LVM
- grub as the default boot loader on i386
- wireless networking support
- 2.4.25 kernel, with SATA support and security fixes
- support for the XFS filesystem
Note that your original installation report may have been split up into
multiple individual bug reports. If so this message closes only one bug,
and not other issues you reported.
