I tried installing debian sarge beta 3 yesterday on a targa Visionary XP-210
laptop computer with first cd installer and net installer. Both failed

floppy drive.

Which architecture is this system? Debian-installer support 8 or so, at
least 5 have IDE.

sorry, the system is a targa laptop computer using an athlon xp 2800+ with via-kt400 chipset.

However, this system does not have floppy and it is brand new, so i guess it is natural for floppy detection to fail. Nevertheless, i failed to circumvent the hardware detection mechanism freezing upon ide-floppy probing on second try.

Finally, i tried knoppix 3.2, which worked fine :-(
