Bug#239065: Sarge installation - failed

Method: Boot from CD, download packages over net from ftp.us.debian.org
<How did you install?  What did you boot off?  If network

Machine: Custom Athlon box, 512 MB RAM, 2 network devices, 80 GB HD
Processor:
Memory:
Root Device: <IDE?  SCSI?  Name of device?> IDE
Root Size/partition table: Separate partitions for Boot Block, Root, /usr , /var, /home
