I used the 100 MB netinst-Image to boot from CD, which I put in the
CD-burner.

Comments/Problems:

0. Selecting Network device

Luckily I knew from my last system on this PC, which NIC was eth0 and eth1.

1. Select Partitions as mount-points

As I had my HD already partitioned, I just wanted to select the appropriate
mount points. As one can see in the partition table, I selected partition 1
for /boot. In the next step I selected partition 2 and said "Dateisystem
beibehalten" (keep filesystem). After that "/boot" was shown in the
partition list for partition 2.

2. Selecting device for lilo

The explaining text said something about choosing between a partition or a
device, but how can one know, what are valid values to type in the field?

3. reboot-window

It's a nice idea to eject the CD before the reboot. But mine was not in the
DVD-ROM, as the installer obviously assumed, but in the CD-burner. Isn't it
possible to detect from where the running system was booted as KNOPPIX does
it?

The rest of the install was really easy. Thanks a lot for the good work!

Holger
