Mmm, at what point does the problem appear exactly ? Would this be
solved by providing this module in the initrd, and then have it loaded
by discover 1/2 ? Gaudenz, am i right in thinking that pmac sound
hardware is detected by discover, and thus loaded ?

The only remaining problem i would see would be if the sound problem is
there either :

  a) until the module is loaded from the cdrom. Seems to be the case,
solution would be to move the module to the initrd.

  b) until the module is loaded from the initrd. I don't know if this is
the case, and i don't know how we can solve that short of using a
builtin dmasound_pmac module, which would be a waste on non-pmac
hardware. Maybe only a little patch to fix the sound level, prior to
  the module being loaded ?

Any idea on which hardware this problem appears ?
