Comments/Problems:

Installed over a previous RedHat 7.3 install and I wanted to keep the existing /home and /opt partitions so I didn't change the partition table. In cfdisk the previous partition labels had been changed ([/1], [/boot1], [/var1], etc). Would have been nice if the installer had recognised the labels and asked me if I wanted to keep them.

The partitions were given long pathnames I couldn't interpret instead of the usual /dev/hda[16789] I was expecting but I dealt with it

Several steps asked me to select drivers but the only info I have is the name of the device. Case in point
is the mouse (this is during the xfree86 setup). I have an USB/PS2 optical wheel mouse connected to the PS2 mouse port. I guessed 'netscrollps/2' but this behaved as though button1 was always pressed. I later ran dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 (how many users would know to try that?) and changed the mouse to 'PS/2' which fixed that problem but now I can't scroll.

My general impression is that the installer does everything but it's somewhat klunky and I'm often asked to provide info that I don't have. It's not as straight forward as the RedHat installer I've used a number of
but it's a lot better than my woody install.

I'm looking forward to the next Beta. Best wishes and good luck with your further development.
