Bug#231829: boot-floppies: Installation does not correctly configure UK keyboard

Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A; reported 2004-02-09
Severity: normal

Despite choosing the UK keyboard option during installation, the key-combo
Shift-3 produces #/n (Octothorpe/linefeed) instead of the correct £ (Pound)
sign at the console.

	loadkeys uk

fails to fix the problem. Eventually after about an hours internet search I
find that adding

	Meta-#: "\C-v£"

to /etc/inputrc fixed this. I don't know if this is the 'right' way to do
this (particularly as I needed a £ sign to be able to do it. :-) ).

This is a irritating problem that I should not have had to waste so much time
on.

Regards

Daran G.
