This sounds very bad.

It means LANG string is set 'en_:en_US', not 'en_US'.
LANG is grabbed by:

          DI_DB=/var/log/debian-installer/cdebconf/questions.dat
                LANG=$(debconf-copydb d-i stdout \
                                -c Name:d-i -c Driver:File -c Filename:$DI_DB \
                                -c Name:stdout -c Driver:Pipe -c InFd:none \
                                --pattern='^debian-installer/locale$' |
                       grep ^Value: | cut -d ' ' -f 2)

But something change occured about "debian-installer/locale" variable?

Thanks,
