Bug#229970: .../i82365.o: init_module: No such device

Package: discover
Version: 1.1-6
Severity: normal

Hi!

It seems discover tries to load the i82365 module, while loading
yenta_socket would be appropriate. IIRC, yenta_socket works with 2.4
kernels for me, while i82365 works with the 2.2 line (YMMW).

The actual error messages were:

| # apt-get install discover
| [...]
| Setting up discover (1.1-6) ...
| [...]
| /lib/modules/2.4.24-jan/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/i82365.o: init_module: No
| such device
| Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
| including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
| /lib/modules/2.4.24-jan/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/i82365.o: insmod
| /lib/modules/2.4.24-jan/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/i82365.o failed
| /lib/modules/2.4.24-jan/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/i82365.o: insmod i82365
| failed

Maybe looking in the /etc/default/pcmcia would be appropriate?

/etc/default/pcmcia:
[...]
PCIC=yenta_socket
[...]

If you needed an additional info to make use of this bugreport, please
ask for it.

Oh, I've just learned the i82365 is skipped when I run
/etc/init.d/discover [re]start now; 'tis nice, but the point about
looking in the pcmcia config still stands.

Cheers,
Jan.
