Method: 
* downloaded the ISO for network boot
* booted machine from CD
* instal started fine
* partition (/dev/hda8) containing old woody rused (fs left intact)
* partition (/dev/hda3) containing old swap rused (fs left intact)
* error detected after download the base packages, debootstrap.err.log empty, debootstrap.log entries copied here :

* base not installed. Tried again, same results

Machine: desktop, 'standard'
Processor: Athlon 1600+
Memory: 128Mb
Root Device: IDE /dev/hda
Root Size/partition table: Several partitions (Linux, W2000). 
One to be re-used (/dev/hda8) containing woody, /dev/hda3 contains swap to be re-used
Output of lspci:
- obtained via debian woody on the same machine

Comments/Problems:

No real details about errors... and debootstrap files nearly empty. Could retry if you will and 
provide more details.

My comments :
Detection of CD, IDE and net was ok. Installer however did not included any devices for the floppy, so
floppy could not be mounted and command to save logs failed... without errors.
List of keyboard seems sorted strangely (belgian not in the first entries).
Naming of the IDE disk is surprisingly long... and way to navigate in the partitions could
be dangerous (the 'Finish' entry could be more 'highlited', I miss it for several minutes asking how to 
leave the screen)

Nice installer, more intelligent that the previous one. Will it include also a video card/screen detector to
ease:automate the X installation like Redhat?
