Why?  fdisk can also be used to destroy data on ntfs partitions. ;P

In any case, I've heard very good things about ntfsresize -- it's based
on the excellent open documentation of NTFS now available from the ntfs
project on sourceforge -- and several other distributions have been
using it for a while.  I think I have a higher confidence level with
this code than I ever did with FIPS.

I would love to see someone take on the project of integrating
ntfsresize support into d-i (probably into partman?).
