Comments/Problems:

My only network connection is through a Dell TrueMobile 1300 802.11g card, with no Linux support. I get everyday access through LinuxAnt's driverloader software, but this requires non-free nondistributable components and a paid license key. As such, I was installing a pure base system with no network connection.

During install, I was presented automatically with a network configuration screen (I also have a perfectly usable but non-connected 10/100 card), which I had to go through with empty values because I had no working connection. After every subsequent installer segment, I was presented again with the network configuration screen, even though I had canceled it many times before.

Ultimately, after "Install base system" completed, network configuration came up again, but would run endlessly. I'd complete it with empty values, it would do some 'modprobe' business, and it would start again. At this point I gave up and quit the installer.
