Re: Bug#226400: installation-reports: fails to installnic-extra-modules

In-Reply-To=<[🔎] E1AdevO-0000QG-00@terminalarrogance.com>

Argh!

Sorry folks, schoolboy error. Sure there was 8M of main memory free, but
the shm filesystem on / was full. Discovered the problem when trying the 4
Jan build today - the error reporting is better, and syslog recorded anna
saying "no space left on device" during scsi-extra-modules ...

So, can someone tell me how to correct this please? I can by all means set
up a swap partition using the console on vc2, right at the start of the
install, but by the time I can do that the installer has already allocated
15Mb to /, which is not going to be enough. How can I increase the size of
/?

Can I mount a real disk partition to act as the destination for the
installer modules?

If there's no way to increase the available space, can I at least skip
lots of unwanted installer modules (with DEBCONF_PRIORITY=low?)?

Grateful for any tips,

CC
