This is the one I need;-(

You and I have different views of what's common;-(. Of all the built-in
drivers, I've got about one matching chipset, and for that no bootroms.
I've got lots of Intel (including resold) NICs, quite a few with
bootroms, and a few 3C905xxs with bootroms.

I'll have a think about it. I know I can build my own kernel, and I
assume using a floppy will work around it (obviously a CD-RW is dubious
for other reasons).
