installing debian 3.0r1 (25.01.03)

Hi!
i copied the iso-file and made image with nero. the cd boots and give 
instructions how to boot. it a notebook "baycom wolrdbook2".
the installtions starts some lines are displayed on screen but to quick 
to read. then my screen start iluminating from dark to bright and on the 
right side i can see the knoppix sysmbol and word in capital letters. 
nothing more happens, no messages or what ever.
i'm prepared to change to the linux-world but i didn't expect an 
installation failure.
