/dev/sr0 is normally just an alias for /dev/scd0.
$ ll /dev/sr0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2003-09-11 16:05 /dev/sr0 -> scd0
Can you confirm this?

This is a known issue. Changing /etc/hostname should work, but it
might not have recognized this immediately.
