Testing on an IBM BladeCentre HS20
Hi ppl.
I've been repeatedly testing floppy and CD images from
http://gluck.debian.org/cdimage/testing/netinst/i386/sarge-i386-netinst.iso (the one dated Wed 8th Oct 2003) on an IBM BladeCentre system. This host is an x86 CPU, and has a CDROM and floppy drive shared between all hosts on a switchable USB bus. This probably needs the usb-storage module (and dependencies) available. In looking at archives, this looks like what Martin was talking about on Tue, 9 Sep 2003 01:33:43 +1000 (Install report, laptop with USB CD-ROM).
Can the CD have these USB modules in the kernel (as per Herbert's mail
(Tue, 9 Sep 2003 21:36:28 +1000, re bug #209229)? If the
usb-storage-udeb is on the disk, and not in the initrd on the CD, then
it can't be accessed... as seems to be the case now. I cant see the
usb-storage-udeb on the installer's root FS. 209229 has been closed, but
I still can't use my USB storage device to install from CD (I guess
FireWire devices are the same, based on the Wiki).
Please CC me as I am off-list.

(but it is so *almost* there for my usage...)
