Bug#214232: partconf: Doesn't care which partition I want to format/mount
Package: partconf
Severity: important
File: partconf
Just tried d-i using today's (or yesterday's) netinst ISO images:
$ lang=C TZ=UTC ls -lh sarge-i386-netinst.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 roland roland 115M 2003-10-04 22:16 sarge-i386-netinst.iso
When at the partconf stage, I get the following behaviour:
Step 1: listing of available partitions
This works okay, I see all partitions I have. I select partition #11
on IDE disk 1 (which I'll call hda11 for the sake of brevity), then
"Continue".
Step 2: selection of mkfs to use
This step doesn't say which partition it wants to operate on. I
select ext3.
Step 3: selection of mount point
This step asks me for a mount point, but it says it's for hda1. I
bravely select "/" nevertheless.
Back to step 1: listing of available partitions
I now see the list of partitions I have. hda1 is displayed as "format
as ext3 then mount on /". hda11 is displayed as "leave as is".
Since hda1 to hda10 are the partitions where my real setup lives, I
chickened out and didn't try to go any further. I believe d-i would
have gladly erased/reformatted my hda1 and installed stuff on it.
Roland.
