Sarge: Debian-Installer doesn't work from floppy-booted i386-PC
Hi Debian-Sarge interested community,
I downloaded the complete Sarge-ISO-CD-Images (11 pieces, dated with 21. September 2003) and the
floppy-image.img and cd_drivers-image.img, dated with: 24. September 2003 from
http://people.debian.org/~sjogren/d-i/images/daily/
to install it:
the installation from actual CDs is not possible, because the Debian-Installer Main Menu from above
mentioned floppy-images allows only in an endless-loop
- Load installer modules
- Execute a shell
Some HW will be recognized and modules will be loaded but the inserted
Sarge-ISO-CD will not become mounted.
For continueing this installation from Sarge-ISO-CD.
Does anyone know, how to proceed ??
Of course my various Pentium I-PC allow only floppy and harddisk-booting,
and an access to Internet per Debian-Linux first needs to be installed and configured !
Many thanks in advance,
Christoph
