Segmentation fault kbd-chooser
I'm interested in helping with the debian installer project and I thought I'd
start out by attempting an install with the current iso. I used the iso at:
http://gluck.debian.org/cdimage/testing/netinst/i386/sarge-i386-netinst.iso
When chose the menu item "Detect a keyboard and select layout", I received the
error:
"An error or warning message was logged while running kbd-chooser
Segmentation fault kbd-chooser's postinst exited with status 35584"
The log console shows (all of these lines are preceded by the date and "(none)
user.debug":
installer[138]: Menu item 'kbd-chooser' selected
installer[195]: Setting debian-installer/serial-console to 0
installer[138]: Configuring 'kbd-chooser' failed with error code 256
installer[138]: Menu item 'kbd-chooser' failed.
installer[138]: Lowering debconf priority limited from 'debconf/priority
doesn't exist' to 'critical'
installer[138]: Package 'kbd-chooser' printed to stderr, size=67
I'm attempting to install this on a Dell Laptop with a standard PS/2 keyboard.
If you need more details about my hardware, I'll gladly send them to the
list.
As I said at the beginning of this message, I'm very interested in helping
this project, so let me know how I can fix this problem and I'd be glad to.
Thanks,
Tom
