Hello,
My name is Daniel, and I am trying to install your
linux on my computer but I have come across a little trouble.
This is the first time I have ever installed or even used linux
so if I have done something obveously wrong, I am sorry for using
your time. I have created the floppies that were requested, I remade the
failing on several times but to no avail. When I insert the rescue disk
and turn the computer on everything works as it should. I press enter to
boot and install and it appears to be workin. I can see it loading linux,
then identifying my hardrives and cd-rom. Then it stops (properly I
believe) and I get this error screen.
floppy0: unexpected interrupt
VFS: Insert root floppy to be loaded into RAM
disk
floppy0: unexpected interrupt
floppy0: sensei repl[0]=c0, repl[1]=0
floppy0: sensei repl[0]=c1, repl[1]=0
floppy0: sensei repl[0]=c2, repl[1]=0
floppy0: sensei repl[0]=c3, repl[1]=0
I at this point am suspicious but I put the root
floppy in and press enter, I then get an error that flys by several times as if
in a loop. It loads some other information than displays the error, then
loads the information and displays the error again, four of five times I think,
this is the error:
floppy0: floppy time out called
end_request: I/O error 01 dev 02:00 (floppy) sector
2
(I believe this number may change^)
Once this goes by several times, it stopps
but has more errors listed, it goes as follows:
floppy0: floppy time out called
end_request: I/O error 01 dev 02:00 (floppy) sector
2
RAMDISK: couldn't find valid RAM disk images starting at 0
apm: BIOS version 1.1
Flags: 0.03 (driver version 1.13)
apm: Disabled on user request
VFS: Insert root floppy and press ENTER
When I recieve this error I press enter as it says, I already have the root
disk in the drive. I then flips through a very similar error screen (the
one that flipped five times earlier, not the ending on directly above) with the
same errors but two new lines that appeared two of the times it flipped, not at
the same time, they were:
Ext_fs: Unable to read superblock
and
FAT: Bread Failed
Each of these appeared along with the other floppy0 timeout messages.
When it finally stopped again I got one last error screen that I cannot get out
of, it won't do anything at all, and from the wording, I don't blame it.
floppy0: floppy time out called
end_request:I/O error 01 dev 02:00 (floppy) sector 2
attempt to access beyond the end of the device
02:00: rw=0 want=33 limit=4
dev 02:00: blksize=1024, blocknr=32, sector =64, size=1024, count=1
isofs_read_super: bread failed dev 02:00 iso_blknum=16 blocks=32
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 02:00
This is where it ends, nothing more will come up after this. I have
tried this several times but the result is always the same. I have tried
several different disks but nothing has worked. I thank you for your time
and kindess, and hope that I haven't kept you to long.
Thanks,
Daniel
Note: Some of the error messages above went past very quickly and
were difficult to read, this is what I copied down and it is possible that there
could be errors.
