Bug#153296:

Package: boot-floppies
Version: Downloaded July 1 2002
architecture: sparc
model: sparcstation2
memory: 16 MB

I am trying to install debian on my old sparcstation which currently has sunOS 4.1 installed. I made the series of floppies described in the install guide as the machine has no cdrom drive. After booting from the rescue disk I am prompted for the root disk. I load the root disk, but after running and giving messages that seem to indicate everything is going alright I get a blinking cursor, but no instruction as to what to do next, and the floppy does not eject. I can type but I havnt yet found a command that has given a response. The last message I tend to get is that there was a successful mount of an ext2 file system.

I am wondering how to proceed in the installation.
Thanks,
Christopher Oster
