Re: promise controller

It' a Promise PDC20267 onboard ide raid (on a Tyan 200) and is setup as RAID
1 with 2 x 40Gb IDE HDs.

The installer fails as it cannot find the harddrive(s) when trying to
partition / initialise, so the installation process cannot proceed.

As far as I am aware the slackware 8.1 kernel is a standard 2.4.18 - I've
looked at the config file and it seems that the same Promise drivers are
selected for slackware as they are for the bf2.4

Regards, David
