Bug#145981:

I have this problem also, but it has occured with more than just ide-pci.
It happens with bf2.4, idepci, compact and also an old set of standard
install floppies I had from a few months ago.

I have no idea _why_ its doing this, as I've now tried 3 completely
different sets of hardware and all the combinations of options I can think
of..
