On an old 486, many messages like this were seen while booting the
default installation root.bin:
modprobe: modprobe: Can't open dependencies file /lib/modules/2.2.20/modules.dep
On a newer machine they go past so fast as to be almost unnoticeable,
but on an old machine they would lead the user to think there was a
problem.
