Hello again, I would be happy to try this out. I did try the bootbf2.4.iso created on Feb 16 2002 at http://people.debian.org/~blade/boot-floppies/cd-iso/bootbf2.4.isoThe kernel found the cciss device, (determined by "cat /proc/partitions")and after manually creating the /dev/cciss/c0d0... files, I was able to fdisk them. I didn't continue with the install because dbootstrap didn't see the "available disks".
It looks to me like the required patches for makedev and dbootstrap have been put into CVS so if you could whip up another iso with this new stuff, I would be happy to report back with my findings.
