Bug#133882: boot-floppies: dbootstrap hangs after installing base system

Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A; reported 2002-02-14
Severity: important

Installation on a laptop, disconnected to the network (but configuring
the network interface properly), freezes at the end of the base
installation system with the message "Successfully completed"

Looking into the process table shows up to eximp processes,
one with '-Mc' options and one with '-oem -oi -f <>' options.
Killing this processes makes the base installation finish properly and
continue with the next step (Configure boot/Reboot/boot floppy).

Why is exim running after installation of the base system?
Could it freeze because it's trying to send an email somewhere (even
in the local system) and the system is not physically connected to the
network.

If this issue happens in other systems it might render the installation
unsuccesful. The base system will be installed but lilo won't so
the Linux system will not startup unless booting with "rescue
root=/dev/hdXXX" the CDroms.

I'm using CD images downloaded from the official mirror (CD tag
is 20020125)
