Subject: boot-floppies: An incorrectly entered mirror site cannot be corrected

Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A; reported 2002-01-21
Severity: important

This bug assumes a network install.

If an invalid (e.g., one with no Releases file in the dist root) mirror
site is entered initially, the system says the Releases file was
invalid. But if this is corrected (e.g., with a new mirror site), the
installer makes no network connections and immediately gives the same
error message.

The workaround is to reboot the system, reinstall kernel and modules,
reconfigure devices, and proceed with a (correct, working) mirror site.

This bug was found on Woody i386 disks version 3.0.18-2001-12-21.

The latest upload of boot-floppies should fix this.
