I tried the compact, 1.44 images. On the good side, the penguin
colors appear to have been fixed. Unfortunately, there are a
couple problems.

I had to configure the network twice, via DHCP, in order for
/etc/resolv.conf to be filled with my nameservers. Thinking this
was a fluke, I rebooted and tried again, but encountered the same
behavior. Watching tty3, the last thing it printed was "The
network has been successfully con" before logging stopped.
Logging restarted only after the modules had been downloaded.

While installing base, I noticed that the following message
appeared three times on tty4 before or while the packages were
downloaded:

local: 3: bad variable name

Finally, the output from LILO's postinst (I believe) appeared on
tty1, messing up the screen.

I didn't run through the post-reboot part of the installation.

I'll try to investigate the bugs and file appropriate bugs (unless
someone beats me to it).

Matt
