Suppose each -pic package was required to provide a file containing 
whatever fragments of magic were needed to reduce it,and this info
(or fragment of sh code) could be pulled into the master version in 
libc6-pic... That way, when the pic slang libraries stop working, it
is the fault of the the pic slang libraries maintainer, and a sensible
bug report can be filed.
