Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A; reported 2001-12-27
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Boot floppies are useless if they can not install the base system.

The version is 3.0.19, obtained from http://sbih.org/debian/bf3.0.19/.

I was trying to load basedebs.tgz from an already mounted ext2
partition. This installation option repeatedly failed to locate the
directory where the archive was located. Interestingly, I could go to
console two, and cd to the directory containing the archive, thus
convincing me that the filesystem was properly mounted. However, the
installer could not locate this archive from a full path. /target/....

By the way, the option <...> at the end of the line could use some
explanation. Trying to use it causes the installer to forget the path
to the archive. What is the purpose of this <...> facility?

Please reply to my email address JohnWenger@Earthlink.Net. THe address 'jw@Earthlink.net" is incorrect; I just submitted a bug report against 'reportbug' reporting this email address problem.
