[solved] flashing screen madness
I think I've fixed all the flashing screen madness, special thanks to
David Kimdon. The problem was in one case a desync between libraries
we build with and libraries used for the rootdisk; in another case I
was statically linking with libnewt.a since there wasn't any
libnewt.so (grrr!).
All of this knowledge has been coded into 'make check' so please be
sure you run that before building. I think I'll make that a permament
thing for 3.0.19 (in debian/rules) so it's always run before building.
