Hi, I'm trying to install Linux for the first time. I'm pretty much a Linux
newbie.
Anyhoo I have a Debian Linux CD I picked up from Linuxworld last year. It's
version 2.2.12. I boot off of the CD and it gets to the boot: prompt just
fine, and then I hit enter and it has a whole bunch of messages of things
like RAM, PS/2 mouse, ide1, blahblah. Then it goes to:
(scsi0) <Adaptec AIC-7850 SCSI host adapter> found at PCI7/0
(scsi0) Narrow Channel, SCSI ID=7, 3/255 SCBs
(scsi0) Downloading sequencer code... 406 instructions downloaded
NCR53x406a: no available ports found
After that it just locks up, no Num Lock no nothing. No Ctrl-Alt-Delete but
I'm not sure if that's a Microsoft deal and if that still applies in Linux.
Any suggestions?
Clem
