Bug#116648: Busybox is broken in woody ppc boot-floppies

Package: boot-floppies
Version: 3.0.15 (2001-10-08)
Severity: grave

Busybox, or a dependancy, appears to be broken in this version of the
woody-powerpc root floppy.
On my Power Mac 7300/180, the system boots from the boot floppy, and I can
see that the MACE ethernet drivers come up.

When the "Configure the Network" options is selected, the network hardware
will not configure with DHCP, giving the generic message "The network failed
to initialize using DHCP".

The network interface can be manually configured.

When a shell is invoked, ifconfig shows that the card is properly
configured.

ping <any host> results in a segfault.
wget <any URL> results in a segfault.

Obviously, http installations immediately return an error code as there is
no network connectivity.

This is a grave error in my case, because wget is required to install woody.

I repeated this problem on another Mac as well, with identical results:

Hardware Profile #1:
Power Mac 7300
PPC 604e @180MHz
132MB FP RAM (interlaced)
2GB Fireball SCSI
ATI PCI video
On-board MACE ethernet hardware

Hardware Profile #2:
Power Mac 7600
PPC 604 @132MHz
64MB FP RAM (interlaced)
1.2GB Fireball SCSI
On-board video
On-board MACE ethernet hardware

After this problem, I verified that potato will install without incident on
this hardware.
