Problem with 3.0.9 on sparc (Netra X1)

I'm having problems with the current sparc installation on my Netra X1.

First off, after the kernel and driver modules are fetched from
http.us.debian.org, I get the following error:

ioctl: LOOP_CLR_FD: Device or resource busy

After doing this, I drop to a shell and execute the following command:

# debootstrap --arch sparc woody /target http://http.us.debian.org/debian

The install stops here:

Selecting previously deselected package libc6.
(Reading database ... 216 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking libc6 (from .../libc6_2.2.4-1_sparc.deb) ...
Setting up libc6 (2.2.4-1) ...

Universal Time is now: Thu Nov 30 01:04:15 UTC 1967.
Run 'tzconfig' if you wish to change it.
Package `sysvinit' is not installed and no info is available.
Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.

The complete log is at http://flounder.net/minicom.txt. It stops at the same
place even if I set the clock to the correct time.

Any suggestions?
