Bug#109455: dhcp non-functional 3.0.11

Package: boot-floppies
Version: 3.0.11

Something with regard to DHCP appears broken. dhclient-2.2.x reports
that it is successful, but it is not. I even went to the trouble to
download woody's pump and that doesn't work either. I can ping my local
network with a manually configured address on 192.162.x.x so it's not
the network card that is broken. I conjecture that it is the kernel
configuration. af_packet.o is loaded. /var/dhcp is there... but still,
no address. I toyed around in /proc/net and noticed if I did 'echo 1 >
dev_mcast' then, with pump, I would get some 'request: id: rejected'
messages on the debug console. but that's the only feedback I can get
out of the thing. Two other computers get DHCP just fine on this
network, but I really need DHCP to work for the install. I don't have
the hard drive space for NFS or a local mirror.

Thanks,
