I wouldn't have brought this up if I had noticed that powerpc testing base-config is stuck at 1.0. The apt-conf bit is a very nice touch. The apt-setup/distribution stuff doesn't quite work right. I believe this is because woody (set from SUITE in dbootstrap_settings) isn't one of the settings in the template. 00dbootstrap sets apt-set/distribution to woody, then 30apt-setup resets it to stable (the default). Should dbootstrap be setting the suite to testing or should base-config recognize woody (potato, sid, etc.)? Also after apt-setup -probe is run, the screen isn't fully redrawn for the [ ] Add another apt source? prompt. In particular, the buttons and borders aren't drawn or visible (at least until you hit tab for the buttons). Pretty much all you get is a green screen, the text for the prompt, and the help text. I assume this is because we've bailed out of pseudo-graphics mode while we're probing the sources. Either we need to re-initialize the graphics or redirect the text from the probe. Of course, maybe I just have an old version of some library? Thanks, Stephen -- Stephen R. Marenka If life's not fun, you're not doing it right! <stephen@marenka.net>
