we need "glue" that invokes the various components. This doesn't
necessarily need to be shell i guess... (the counterpart to
/usr/share/debconf/* in perl-debconf)

also config scripts may be shell

note that cdebconf as currently written is not debian-installer-
specific. if all goes well, i'd like to see it act as an alternative to
perl debconf in the main distribution.

shared libs can potentially create a lot of dependencies that we may or
may not want. also, if i understand this correctly, depending on how we
do the shared libs it may not buy us very much.... just look at a
program linked against glibc (dynamically) vs. one linked statically
against uc-libc....
