Bug#63799: boot-floppies: System hangs hard at network configuration

Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A

Last CVS update was done at about Mon, 8 May 2000 06:00:27 -0700

Symptom: Aparant hard console lock. Keyboard doesn't respond, plus my
Belkin Electronic KVM switch is "frozen" after a keypress.

The lockup happens when configuring the network, when attempting to
configure by DHCP or at the end of manual configuation.

My previous workaround of installing and configuring the base system
before configuring the network no longer works.

The host system uses a Linksys Tulip-based ethernet adapter, and was
installed using a previous CVS checkout with the above workaround. The
host system is aparantly working fine, since my CVS area is mounted by
NFS.
