Assuming you are trying to boot with Potato boot disks. If you do have scsi, then try the compact flavor of images. D'oh, I think those are broke in 2.2.12 -- 2.2.13 should be ok and installed with a day or so? If you do not have scsi, try the idepci flavor of images.
