Subject: System hangs while booting for installation
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
X-Mailer: Mutt 0.93.1i

Package: boot-floppies
Version: potato (Feb 12 2000)

architecture: i386
model: Celeron 366 with MSI MS-6153 board
memory: 128 MB
scsi: Adaptec 2940
cd-rom: TEAC 32x SCSI
network card: rtl8139

Booting from the rescue floppy my computer hangs, the last message printed is:
IBM MCA SCSI: No Microchannel-bus support present -> Aborting.

Then nothing goes (not even Ctrl-Alt-Del).
My Adaptec SCSI adapter seems to get initialized correctly.
Any boot-options I could try?

Thanks for any help...

Since there has been no followup from you on our suggestion to try
other flavors, and no other independant confirmation, we can only
assume that it was a kernel issue resolve by using the compact or
"vanilla" flavors of the kernel.
