Subject: Installation bug
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Package: installer
Version: (2.0.36 ?)

I installed Debian with kernel version 2.0.36 with libc 2.0.7 on my laptop. The computer can only support a disk drive or a CD-ROM drive, not both, at a time, and the two drives are not hot swapable. I created a boot disk on another Debian machine and then went ahead with the installation using the CD drive. At one point, the install program demanded that I make a boot disk and I selected the alternate option, to restart my computer. Unfortunately, the install program never ran /sbin/lilo or configured my cd drive. I don't know what other important activities it may have missed (the mouse still doesn't work).

You may have already fixed this bug, as I am using a slightly outdated version of Debian.

If possible, please e-mail me back with instructions about what to do, if anything, to fix the rest of my system.

We believe that the bug you reported has been closed in the Potato
version of the boot-floppies. We may not have received a response
from you so we are closing this bug.

Please let us know if you find that the bug still exists in the potato
version of the boot-floppies, and we can re-open your bug.

Note that there are some temporary but serious problems with those
floppies you should know about on i386:

 - installation of base from floppy probably not working
 - the compact flavor may not work
