The SMART2 driver is compiled into the kernel for the "compact"
flavour of boot-floppies. In the "compact" sub-section (under the
"Layout" section), the top-level README.txt refers the reader to
images-1.44/compact/README.txt, which says:

[...] includes support for PCI SCSI and IDE controllers,
and for some PCI RAID and network controllers.

I'll amend this to:

[...] includes support for PCI SCSI and IDE controllers,
some PCI RAID controllers (including DAC960 and SMART2)
	and some network controllers.

In general, any target device supported by Linux should be covered
by at least one of the boot-floppies flavours.

Regards,

Mark.
