This is not a boot-floppies problem but an e2fsprogs problem.

e2fsprogs maintainer, let me know if not.  I don't mean to be a bug
terrorist but we have to deal with large volumes of bugs for
boot-floppies so I have to trust my intuition sometimes.

Reassigned this bug.
