Package: bootdisk
Version: 19990811
Severity: wishlist

RedHat now allows i386 installations to be done totally using the serial port
with no monitor. This means you can install Linux from scratch using a dumb
terminal or a PC running emulation connected to the systems serial port.

This feature is quite useful for lots of people, including blind users who
can run their speech processors off the PC that runs the terminal emulation.
I believe that this install method is already available for a Sparc, so it
shouldn't be that hard to do for i386 as well.

Serial installation is now supported for i386 machines in the Debian
boot-floppies.

I don't know if it is properly documented or whether it actually
works, but any failures in that would be another bug report.

Thanks for your bug report.
