bogl

I'm doing some work on bogl to make it handle big, Unicode fonts, and
I'm implementing a little virtual terminal (to be registered in
terminfo as "bterm", of course) that should be sufficient to run
curses and slang applications and to support GNU Readline. Most of
this is already working in my prototype. Having modified both slang
and newt to work with UTF-8, the program called "test" or "testing"
from newt works quite nicely on my bterm even after I put funny
diacritics on almost every letter. (So a multilingual dbootstrap
should run too ...)

One thing I haven't started doing yet, but should be included
eventually, is a user-space keyboard driver so that we make console
input methods as flexible as Emacs input methods.

Anyway, does anyone object to me commiting some of this stuff into
cvs.debian.org:/cvs/debian-boot, when I get it into a tidy state and
add some documentation? Is anyone else interested in it?

Edmund
