Bug#41033: [slink] cannot write partition to SCSI drive using fdisk or cfdisk
Regarding the error messages you mentioned, they are normal.
Regarding the long delay, perhaps your scsi controller intreprets your
attempt to repartition as an attempt to do a low level format? No,
that doesn't make sense. More likely, you have some sort of problem
with the SCSI system itself (termination, cable length, etc?).
Have you tested the potato boot-floppies? Perhaps this is something
fixed in the 2.2.x kernels... Please let us know so we know the
disposition of this bug.
